Ammavaripeta Cheruvu, located in Warangal, Telangana, is a small water body that became famous when the first and only documented records of a Spur-winged Lapwing in India, marking a significant discovery. The Spur-winged Lapwing, a bird with distinctive black and white plumage and a spur on its shoulder, is primarily found in Africa. Its sighting at Ammavaripeta Cheruvu drew the attention of bird enthusiasts from all over India, showing this small lake's importance.

Damagundam Reserve Forest

Damagundam Reserve Forest, located in the Vikarabad district of Telangana, is a dense forest area known for its rich biodiversity and scenic landscapes. This reserve forest is near to the much larger Ananthagiri Hills region, which is a crucial area for the Musi River. The forest has diverse flora, including teak, eucalyptus, and bamboo, providing a habitat for fauna such as deer, wild boars, and numerous bird species. Damagundam Reserve Forest plays an important role in regional ecological balance and water conservation. It is also known for its scenic views and trekking trails, making it a popular spot for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike.

Kapra Lake

Kapra Lake, located in the north part of Hyderabad is a serene water body that is a habitat for birds and a place for Ganesha immersion. This small lake has diverse flora and fauna, making it a spot for bird-watching and nature walks. Unfortunately, in recent times pollution has taken its toll on this small lake. Efforts have been made to preserve this lake and to restore the local attraction it once had, but they are yet to see a major reward.

Manjeera Reservoir

Manjeera Wildlife Sanctuary, located in Telangana, is home to around 290 bird species, making it a bird watcher's paradise. The sanctuary also supports marsh crocodiles, turtles, and various fish species. Conservation efforts focus on protecting this unique ecosystem, ensuring the sanctuary remains a part of Telangana's natural heritage and a crucial sanctuary for wildlife.
