Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary

Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal is full of lush, hilly forests. It is in between the Teesta and Mahananda rivers and a good place to see Indian Bison, Wild Boars, and sometimes, leopards, tigers, and elephants. The sanctuary is also a haven for bird watchers, with over 400 bird species recorded, including the rare Rufous-necked hornbill. The diverse habitats, ranging from green forests to high-altitude grasslands, support this rich biodiversity. Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary also offers activities like wildlife spotting, trekking, and nature walks, making it a great place to visit for both families and nature enthusiasts.
