Jim Corbett National Park, located in South Uttarakhand, India, is a world-renowned wildlife sanctuary established in 1936 as Hailey National Park and later renamed in honour of the British hunter, naturalist, and author Jim Corbett, who played a key role in its creation and conservation. As the oldest national park in India, it holds a significant place in the country's history. It was the first national park to come under the ‘Project Tiger’ initiative in 1973, aimed at protecting the endangered Royal Bengal Tiger. The park is also known for its leopards, elephants, deer, wild dogs, jackals, langurs, macaques and its 600 species of birds.
